Pharmaceutical, Biologic, and Medical Device Litigation

We understand that the effective defense of companies developing today’s pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices requires an uncommon blend of proven courtroom acumen and the ability to comprehend and marshal vast amounts of technical and scientific data generated by both the client and the larger scientific community. Our lawyers are experienced in the defense of pharmaceutical, biologic, and medical device manufacturers, both in single-plaintiff contexts as well as complex multi-district litigation involving thousands of claims.

We have defended a number of national and international companies in a variety of life science cases, including pharmaceuticals, biologics, vaccines, and various bio-technologies. In particular, our lawyers have worked closely with clients and national coordinating counsel toward the successful defense of all aspects of these intricate cases, including sales and marketing issues, affirmative discovery, the development of expert witnesses in medical, scientific, epidemiological, and regulatory fields, and participation on trial teams.

Among other matters, our lawyers have defended cases involving Vioxx®, where, in addition to a number of matters pending in Alabama courts, we were significantly involved in both the federal multi-district litigation (MDL) and coordinated proceedings consolidated in New Jersey superior court. We have also defended cases involving claims over Fosamax®, Vytorin®, Rituxan®, and Depakote®. We have also been involved in spin-off pharmaceutical litigation such as cases alleging fraud/collusion in drug pricing systems.

Our vast trial experience combined with our traditional strength in healthcare liability defense gives us deep resources and a solid foundation from which to serve clients in this high-stakes field of practice.
